I. Policy

The Catholic University of America requires all first and second year undergraduate students to live in campus housing. Exemptions to the residency requirement may be made for students who are 21 years of age or older, married, reside with a parent or legal guardian within 20 miles of campus, or have demonstrable financial or other hardship. Students seeking an exemption to the residency requirement should submit written certification to HRS documenting one of the above listed exemptions. Students wishing to be granted an exemption of the residency requirement should submit their certification no later than August 1 for the fall semester and December 10 for the spring semester. Freshman and sophomore students not granted prior approval will be charged for housing.
