Additional History

8/22/18:  The policy was revised to change responsibility for parking from Public Safety to the new Transportation Office, and to reflect the parking benefit for long term employees as set forth in the related Departmental Parking Permits Policy.

11/3/14:  The following language was added to section II. General Policy to clarify the University's current limit on overnight parking:

Parking overnight is prohibited on campus between 12 a.m. (midnight) and 7 a.m. Sunday through Saturday with the exception of vehicles that display a valid CUA residential parking permit or a valid CUA decal with an overnight approved sticker affixed.

8/22/13: The policy was revised to include additional relevant information regarding permissible parking for junior and senior resident students, the availability of short term parking permits for eligible members of the University community, handicapped parking requirements and restrictions, and information about metered parking, violations and appeals, and towing.

6/21/13: Consistent with the University's Master Plan and agreement with the District of Columbia, the policy was revised to reflect that the parking restriction for resident freshmen extends to resident sophomores.  The revision was approved by the Director of Public Safety and the Vice President for University Relations and Chief of Staff as cognizant VP.

8/25/05: Policy was reformatted according to the standard template. No changes were made to the substance of this policy.

8/23/04: Sections added on handicap and visitor parking. Language on replacement parking permits removed.
