September 1997 Amendments: (approved by OGC and Sister Rosemary Donley, Executive Vice President )

  • The three-month notice requirement was changed to 30 days.

  • A method for calculating leave is spelled out. CUA policy now reads "The leave period begins on the first work day of the employee's first qualifying leave within the past 12 or 24 month period, as applicable."

  • Language added clarifying that further leave may be available under the ADA.

  • A clarification added that federal and DC leave run concurrently and not consecutively if the leave taken is covered under both laws.
