Additional History

Amendments:

5/10/06 Section on international student employees revised by Director of International Student and Scholar Services to reflect current rules as mandated by legal requirements.

1/4/06: Policy reformatted in standard template.  Some changes were made to the policy. This included updating a title (Director of Personnel Services became Director of Human Resources). The term Executive Vice President was removed, as there is no longer such a position at CUA. The term Academic Vice President was changed to Provost. The last two sentences of the fourth paragraph under Professional Librarians were removed, per the request of the HR Director. This was due to the fact that the Provost had confirmed by email during fall 2005 that the 6 month probationary period for professional librarians was no longer operative, and they would now be on same three month probationary period as other staff employees. Additional language on non-exempt employees was added to clarify practice after change in personnel practices in accord with new FLSA rules. In addition, mention to specific bargaining groups was eliminated as they tend to change. The term "elected" was added to modify the word "union" in the section on bargaining agreements.
