Non-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment, and Title IX Compliance Policy

Additional History

4/26/16:  The policy title was changed from "Non-Discrimination/Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Policy" to "Non-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment, and Title IX Compliance Policy," and section subheadings were added to improve the flow of information.  A fuller reference to Title IX prohibitions against sexual discrimination was added, and the name and title of the Title IX Coordinator were added.  Emphasis on the University's commitment to respond to complaints promptly also was added.

4/24/15:  The paragraph below was revised to reflect that the recently-hired Title IX Coordinator handles Title IX matters, and the Equal Opportunity Officer handles all other matters:

A reference to the Sexual Offenses Policy also was added to the Related Policies section.

10/1/13Policy  revised to include “Non-Discrimination” in the title, to include links to the new Title IX Handout and Title IX Website, to add language specifically prohibiting sexual discrimination (including sexual harassment and sexual violence), and to reference the Title IX Coordinator by title, address, phone and e-mail.

6/29/12: Policy revised to clarify that the policy applies to admission and other educational opportunities as well as to employment.

1/25/11:  Policy was revised to bring it current with new law (GINA) and streamlined references made to Veterans' Laws and other applicable laws. Last sentence removed as not necessary.Mission of Catholic Church language added.

6/26/05: Policy was revised to include the following language regarding retaliation: Retaliation against complainants, alleged victims, or witnesses is prohibited. Acts of retaliation will result in disiplinary action regardless of the outcome of the underlying complaint.
